40th Edition of the 1000 Miglia

The 40th edition of the reenactment of the Historic Race passed through the Autodromo Nazionale Monza for its fourth and final stage, before returning to Brescia.

The "most beautiful race in the world" coloured the Autodromo on Saturday 18 June, paying homage to the circuit in its centenary year. The crews started in the morning to enter the track to perform a timed trial session right inside the Autodromo, allowing all fans to see the historic cars challenge each other in the Temple of Speed.

The public were able to see the convoy of the 1000 Miglia, the vintage car race par excellence, on the track for free: in fact, only vehicles built before 31 December 1957 and belonging to a car model that took part in at least one edition of the 1000 Miglia from 1927 to 1957 are eligible for registration in the 1000 Miglia Register, and, as a consequence, to the reenactment of the 1000 Miglia.

The passage of the 1000 Miglia began at 11 am with the Ferrari Tribute parade, after which the first crews in the race entered the Autodromo, starting with the most retro, in the order of the year of registration.

Closing the convoy were the younger 1957-class crews, and the grand finale were left to the hypercars subscribed to the 1000 Miglia Experience 2022. (to see all the registered cars, click here).

An exciting experience that continues to carry forward one of the aims highlighted by Giovanni Canestrini in 1927:

"Among the aims of the 1000 Miglia is to demonstrate that, with the cars normally on sale, you can travel on existing roads in our country, at high speeds, certain of safety and regularity…Our task is therefore to give the race a technical social and, why not, tourist function."

Trofeo MIMO 1000 Miglia

MIMO celebrated the passage of the 1000 Miglia 2022 at the Autodromo di Monza with the trophy called the Trofeo MIMO 1000 Miglia Trophy, which were the epilogue to the adrenaline-filled day on Saturday 18 June.

More than 300 enthusiasts and collectors drove exceptional supercar or hypercar and set off from Turin, Milan and Varano de' Melegari (Dallara Academy) to meet at Villa Reale in Monza; together, they entered the Autodromo di Monza to visit the MIMO, see the passage of the 40th edition of the 1000 Miglia and compete for the Trofeo, the winners of which were awarded during the dinner organised inside the Autodromo di Monza.

Journalist Parade MIMO 1000 Miglia

Once again there were a parade of the most accredited journalists who, driving the novelties of each automobile manufacturer's engine, were the protagonists of a parade that took them to the iconic flyovers of the Temple of Speed.
